Shontee Branton

Shontee Branton is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow. Shontee is a 1st grade English language arts and reading teacher at Rufus Burleson Elementary in Dallas, Texas. She is a National Board Certified STEM Educator. With roles such as instructional coach, mentor teacher, DI Representative, and Home 2 Home Family Visits, Shontee has made significant contributions to her field. She has received distinctions such as the Distinguished Teacher Recognition Exemplary Teacher for the Dallas Independent School District and the Master Teacher designation from the Texas Education Agency. Shontee’s passion lies in promoting early literacy and being a steadfast advocate for public education. She holds certifications in core subjects in EC-8th Grade in Texas and Oklahoma. Shontee earned a BS in early childhood and an MS in early childhood and educational leadership from the University of Central Oklahoma.
