Bridget Rood is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellow who works as a diverse learner educator at Whitney Young Magnet High School in Chicago. She works on life and employability skills with students who have moderate to severe intellectual disabilities. Bridget is a member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee and a Special Olympics coach. She has previously worked as a transition services provider for an alternative school where she was awarded the Innovation in Education award. She also worked as a diverse learner educator at Uplift Community High School. She graduated from University of Illinois Chicago with a BA in Anthropology as well as a MEd in Special Education.
