Shawnese Brown is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Equity Leadership Institute member and is a 6th grade math teacher at the Duquesne K-8 School in Duquesne. She is currently focused on teaching foundational math skills to 6th grade students as well as propelling 6th and 7th grade students in science and technology through STEM. Shawnese began her teaching career in Canton, OH where she was the lead 4th grade teacher and has since taught various grades between Pre-K and 6th grade. She earned her BA in Elementary Education K-6 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
