Tracy Brown is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Chicago Change Agent. He operates as the 12th grade level lead, instructional lead for history and social science teachers, and 12th grade AP psychology instructor at Gary Comer College Prep. He has served there for the past 11 years. Previously, Tracy taught various grade levels and sub content areas in the social sciences including U.S. history, world history, African American history, and civics for diverse learners as a special education teacher. Tracy’s initiative focuses on the intersection of first-year teacher development in instructional practices as well as cultural responsiveness and academic rigor. He earned his BA in Psychology from Chicago State University, and his MEd in Teaching English as 2nd Language and Multicategory Special Education from Saint Xavier University. He is an EdD Doctoral Studies candidate at Concordia University Chicago in the Educational Leadership Program, specializing in the concentration of Special Education Law, Leadership and Policy Studies.
