Jan-Louis Burroughs is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Colorado Charter Teacher Policy Fellow and the diversity, equity, and inclusion and external affairs intern at Denver Schools of Science and Technology Public Schools. He focuses on advocating for students, faculty, and staff’s social emotional needs in order for all populations to thrive as learners and leaders of their school community. Jan-Louis previously taught math at DSST for nine years and was a technology mentor, affinity group leader, founding math teacher of three DSST schools, and grade-level lead. Jan-Louis received the DSST’s network 2019 Core Value Award for Doing Your Best. Jan-Louis earned his BS in mathematics education from Boston University and is working on his MSW at the University of Texas at Arlington.
