Shanta Calhoun is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Arkansas & Mississippi Policy Fellow and 10th-12th grade computer science teacher at Pine Bluff High School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She serves as co-sponsor for Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and co-chair of the Economic Development committee for the Pine Bluff Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Shanta previously taught kindergarten through 8th grade computer science. She earned Honorable Mention for the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) Aspirations in Computing Educator Award (2020), and was named NCWIT Arkansas Affiliate Winner (2021) and recipient of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Excite Award (2021). Shanta earned a BS in business administration from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and an MBA in organizational leadership from Harding University.
