Freda Calloway is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Arkansas Policy Fellow. Freda is a 12th-grade English teacher, 9th-12th-grade journalism I teacher, and social-emotional learning/yoga teacher at McGehee High School in McGehee, Arkansas. She is one of three Senior Class Sponsors who provide leadership and guidance to students in preparing for senior-level specific school activities. Freda was the High School English Department Team Leader, the ELA Content Facilitator for Arkansas Teacher Corps, and a Summer Mentor for the Arkansas Teacher Corps 2023 Summer Institute. Freda began her teaching career at McGehee High School as an Arkansas Teacher Corps Fellow. Freda is a supporter of and volunteer for the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund. She is also an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She earned her BBA in management from the University of Arkansas-Monticello, and an MA in management and leadership and MPA from Webster University.
