Caprice Banks teaches 9th grade Umoja Seminar, African-American literature, and dual credit English 101/102 at Wendell Phillips Academy High School. She is also the English Department chairperson, dual credit liaison, Y3 OneGoal program director, and a sponsor for the Affinity Club and National Honor Society. She is a Chicago Shakespeare Theatre BardCore alum, a Chicago Area Writing Project alum/teacher consultant, and a 2014 Stanford University Hollyhock Fellow. She holds a BS in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an MEd in Educational Studies and Instructional Leadership from the University of Illinois at Chicago, an MFA from Chicago State University, and an MAT from National Louis University.
