Alicia Carey is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Massachusetts Policy Fellow and a reading specialist, structured literacy dyslexia interventionist and MTSS coordinator at the Perry School in South Boston. She provides tiered literacy intervention for students across elementary grade levels with a focus on targeted reading instruction and support to students with dyslexia and other reading and writing challenges. Alicia was a third grade general education teacher at the Perry School for twelve years prior to becoming a Reading Specialist. Alicia received the 2016 Henry L Shattuck Award for Public Service. She earned her BS in communications from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and an MEd in education from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
