Carey Humphrey is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow who teaches 9-12 grade Principles of Education and Training, Instructional Practices in Education and Training, and Practicum in Education and Training at Grand Prairie High School in Grand Prairie, Texas. Carey runs a dual-credit program for the Education and Training students at UTA, sponsors the Texas Association of Future Educators club, and is a member of the district’s CTE New Teacher Mentor program where she mentors and presents teaching strategies and methods to new teachers. Carey has been named teacher of the year twice, received an Outstanding Teacher Award, and was selected as a TEKS reviewer. She graduated from Texas Woman’s University in Denton with a BS in Home Economics and received her MEd in Education from Concordia University at Austin.
