Carly Fricano teaches 9th grade English at Douglass High School, where she is also the English Language Arts department chair and journalism club sponsor. Carly is a TNCore School Team Leader assisting teachers in her building with the transition to college and career readiness standards. A 2011 Teach for America corps member, Carly writes 9th and 10th grade English curriculum for Shelby County Schools and facilitates district-wide professional development on topics such as curriculum and instruction and the comprehensive literacy improvement plan. Carly graduated from Western Michigan University a BM in Vocal Performance and a BA in English and Spanish, and earned an MEd from Christian Brothers University.
