Carmen Wright is a 2021-22 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow who teaches middle school math at Elkhorn Village in West Sacramento. She serves as an executive board member in her teacher’s union and as an adviser to her school’s local MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) after-school program. She has previously served as department chair and a school site council member. Carmen has led several successful robotic teams competitions and earned C-STEM Teacher of the Year from UC Davis. She earned a BS in mechanical engineering from San Luis Obsipo, California and an MA in middle school science and math education from Georgia State University. She also holds a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential from Sacramento County Office of Education Leadership Institute, Sacramento.
