Kate Carter is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator and circle keeper at multiple elementary and high schools with New Community Outreach in Chicago. She focuses on intentional long-term restorative practices rooted in relationships to support young people’s processing of lived experiences and cultivate their connections to their communities. Kate has previously been a middle school math and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics teacher, as well as an instructional coach. She implemented two action research projects with the Chicago Foundation for Education (2017-2018 and 2018-2019) and attended the Park City Mathematics Institute three times (2017 and 2019 as a participant and 2022 as staff). Kate earned her BA in English from Yale University and MAT in elementary education from the University of Chicago.
