Chris Henderson is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Indiana Policy Fellow, and a 2nd grade looping teacher leader at the IPS Butler Lab School 55 in Indianapolis, IN. He focuses on early childhood development, racial equity, and social justice to provide an equitable experience for all the students and families he serves. Chris started his career teaching at the Wallace School for Integrated Arts in Kokomo, IN, and has since provided teacher professional development around integrating the arts into schools’ curriculum. Chris was nominated for IPS Teacher of the Year (2018-2019). Chris has also sat on the Reggio Emilia Collaborative of Indianapolis board for the past five years. He earned his BS in Early/Middle Childhood Education with a Licensure Endorsement for Mild Interventions in Special Education from Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. Currently, Chris is pursuing his MS in Education through Butler University’s Experiential Program for Preparing School Principals.
