Alisa Cooper de Uribe is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus New Mexico Alumni Policy Fellow. Alisa is a 1st grade bilingual teacher at New Mexico International School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is a grade level leader in the curricular development of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program, and is a part of the school’s mentorship program to foster collaborative teacher preparation and support. Alisa has served as a member of her school’s Pedagogical Leadership Team, Campus Solutions Committee, and as the staff representative on the School Advisory Committee. Alisa is a member of the New Mexico Hispanic Education Advisory Council, and is a member of the Board of Directors of Regional Education Laboratory (REL) Southwest. She earned her BA in English from Abilene Christian University and an MA in Spanish from Middlebury College. She completed the Alternative Licensure Program with a focus on bilingual education at Eastern New Mexico University.
