Danielle Cover is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Michigan Policy Fellow and K-5 literacy coach at Ferndale Lower and Upper Elementary Schools in Oak Park, Michigan. She serves as a School Leadership Team member and Ferndale Education Association building representative. Danielle previously spent 19 years as an elementary classroom teacher, including 16 years teaching 1st grade and as 1st grade instructional lead teacher. She was named John F. Kennedy School’s Teacher of the Year for Ferndale Public Schools (2012–2013) and was nominated for Hour Detroit’s Teacher of the Year (2024). Danielle earned a BA in elementary education with a focus in language arts from Michigan State University and MA in teaching and curriculum from Michigan State University.
