Dr. Cristal Nichols is a 2021-2022 Michigan Collaborative Teacher Leader. She is currently serving in the Detroit Public Schools Community District as a math master teacher. Cristal served as the inaugural equity lead teacher for the 2020-2021 school year and on the school’s leadership team. She is a TFA alumna, having served in the 2000 Atlanta Corps. She holds a BA in Agribusiness from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU), an MA in Environmental Science from FAMU, an Educational Specialist degree in Special Education from Wayne State University, and a PhD in Educational Studies from Eastern Michigan University.
