Kimeon Cruikshank is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator and a kindergarten teacher at Willow Elementary School in Homewood, Illinois. She focuses on developmentally appropriate practice in early childhood education. She serves on the District Strategic Planning Committee as well as on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee for the school and the district. Kimeon has worked as a network level team lead for elementary teachers as well as an Instructional Coach for K-2nd grade teachers. For the past 20 years, she has taught in the Greater Chicagoland Area as well as in the United Arab Emirates. Kimeon has earned the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification and is a Golden Apple Scholar. She earned her BA in early childhood education from DePaul University, an MA in early childhood education from Erikson Institute, and is a doctoral candidate working toward her EdD in curriculum policy and advocacy at National Louis University.
