Aja Currey is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus New Mexico Executive Senior Fellow and principal at Rio Gallinas Charter School in Las Vegas, New Mexico. She was a special education teacher for 10 years and is a Teach Plus National Research Fellowship alumna. Aja participated in the Teach For America Rural School Leaders Cohort (2023-2024) and serves on the board of Kiwanis K-Kids. She earned a BA in early childhood multicultural education, BA in special education, and an MA in educational leadership from New Mexico Highlands University.
