Sebastian Cuyjet is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Michigan Policy Fellow and Advanced Placement (AP) Seminar and AP African American Studies teacher at Jalen Rose Leadership Academy in Detroit. He has provided professional development to early-career teachers at his school and organized multiple school events for students to engage and learn with community organizations. Sebastian began his teaching career in Detroit as a 2020 Teach for America corps member and continued his professional development through the Black Male Educators Alliance. He earned a BA in English at Bowdoin College and a teaching credential from the University of Michigan.
