Jessica Dalton is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Mississippi Policy Fellow. She teaches kindergarten through third-grade IDEA (special education) at Magnolia Park Elementary in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. She is also the lead site coordinator at her school which requires her to attend both school and district-wide leadership meetings to keep other IDEA staff members up-to-date on IDEA policies and procedures. She was named “Techy Teacher of the Month” within her district after completing Google Certified Educator Level I and II courses. She has gone on to complete certifications in SMART, Nearpod, and Apple Teacher. Jessica received her National Board Certification in special education. She earned her BA in deaf education from the University of Southern Mississippi, her MEd in curriculum and instruction (emphasis in special education) from the University of Mississippi, and her EdS in educational leadership from William Carey University.
