David Andrew Tow is a 2021-22 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow who teaches AP English and Honors Philosophy at Terra Linda High School in San Rafael. David is the campus’ English department chair and teaches in the Marin School of Environmental Leadership. He is a co-adviser of the Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA), Student Leaders Anti-Racist Movement (SLAM), and the Tabletop Games Club. He previously served on the National Humanities Center’s Teacher Advisory Council and was a Fulbright Distinguished Teacher to Finland, where he researched civic education. David graduated from San Diego State University with a BA in philosophy, received an MEd in cross-cultural education from National University in San Diego, as well as an MA in English from the University of California Irvine. He is currently a doctoral student at the University of San Francisco in the Department of International and Multicultural Education, where he is studying human rights and education.
