Markeira Davis is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Illinois Chicago Change Agent and a 9th grade English and AP Language & Composition teacher at Kenwood Academy High School in Chicago. Markeira also serves as Summer Enrichment Coordinator, English I Course Team Lead, National Honor Society adviser, and more. Markeira received her Crystal Apple award from the fellows of the Golden Apple Foundation in 2022; she was inducted as a Golden Apple Scholar in 2012. She earned her BA in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. She received a Professional Education certificate in 21st Century Education Redesign from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Markeira is currently pursuing her MA in English from Chicago State University.
