Sergio de Alba is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow and sixth grade teacher at R. M. Miano Elementary in Los Banos, California. He focuses on teaching children in the areas of STEM and the development of real-world skills in order to foster their self-efficacy and help them find success in school and life. Sergio has served as an executive board member for the National Middle-Level Science Teachers Association. Sergio was inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame in 2022 and an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow in Washington, D. C. 2021-2022. He earned his BA in Liberal Studies, a BCLAD teaching credential, an MEd in Education With Distinction, and an administrative credential from California State University, Stanislaus.
