Christy Dean is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Arkansas Policy Fellow and 8th-grade English teacher at Woodland Junior High in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She serves on the Response to Intervention Behavior team and focuses on meeting a wide range of students’ needs and abilities. Christy has served on the Advancement via Individual Determination (AVID) site team. She taught Pre-Advanced Placement and regular 9th-grade English at Woodland Junior High, where she was Teacher of the Year (2016-2017). Christy is a National Board Certified teacher and achieved Maintenance of Certification for National Boards (2021). She earned a BA in English literature from Florida State University and a MAT from the University of Arkansas.
