Sheila Dean is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Arkansas Policy Fellow. Sheila is a 6th grade science teacher at Carl Stuart Middle School in Conway, Arkansas. She teaches both regular and accelerated science classes, where she encourages diverse groups of students to investigate the world around them. During her tenure, Sheila has served as a mentor to both novice teachers and numerous student interns. Sheila received the Arkansas for Gifted and Talented Education Curriculum Award. She has previously served as a University of Central Arkansas (UCA) College of Education Advisory Board Member and as a discussion group moderator for UCA’s Sanford Inspire New Teacher Academy. She earned both her MA in teaching and her EdS in educational leadership with a concentration in gifted education from the University of Central Arkansas.
