Maria DiNovo is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator and a multilingual learner educator and teacher leader at Fenton Community High School in Bensenville, Illinois. Maria previously worked as an ESL Literacy teacher and teacher leader for DuPage High School where she served as a member of the Joint Leadership team and district equity team. She has served in the roles of Student Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator as well as instructional coach. Maria was awarded the “Those Who Excel” All-Star Team award from Naperville Community Unit School District 203 and an Award of Merit from the state. Maria is proud to be trained as a Racial Equity Facilitator from the Equity Literacy Institute. She earned her BA in English education and her MS in literacy education from Northern Illinois University, her ESL endorsement from Benedictine University, and her teacher leader endorsement from National Louis University. She is expected to finish her EdS in curriculum and instruction from National Louis University in the summer of 2024.
