Catherine Djerbaka is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Massachusetts Policy Fellow and an 8th grade special education teacher for the +STEPS program at Nissitissit Middle School in Pepperell, MA. She focuses on teaching children living with Autism within the integration setting, advocating for independent skills of self-advocacy, and self-confidence to help students transition for readiness to high school. She is a member of the North Middlesex School District’s equity audit team and social emotional mental health team. Catherine is a member of the National Honors Society of Psychology and Human Services Rehabilitation Studies. She earned her BA in Human Services & Rehabilitation Studies from Assumption University. Catherine has a certification in Nutritional Health Coaching from the Integrative Institute for Nutrition, and a MEd in Special Education Moderate Disabilities K-12 from Fitchburg State University. She is currently enrolled in Fitchburg State University’s Continuing Education Program for Education Administration Leadership and Management.
