Misty Doy is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Policy Fellow. Misty is a 9th-12th grade English teacher at Pittsburgh Perry High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her focus is to guide high school seniors to develop and hone life literacy skills that will assist them as they transition to careers or post secondary education following graduation. She has worked in various capacities in the Pittsburgh Public Schools over the past 32 years including literacy coach, gifted facilitator, district graduation project assistant coordinator, National Occupational Competency Testing Institute assistant coordinator and English teacher for grades 6-12. She earned her BS in secondary English from California University of Pennsylvania, where she returned to receive her MEd in K-12 school administration. She also holds an MS in instructional technology from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. Her Pennsylvania certifications include career and technical admin director 7-12, principal PK-12, instructional technology specialist PK-12, and English 7-12.
