Diana Durán is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Policy Fellow. She is a K-4 Reading Specialist at Isaac A. Sheppard School in Philadelphia. As a bilingual and biliterate individual in Spanish and English, Diana focuses on helping multilingual learners with a positive mindset, criticality, curiosity, empathy, and joy. She started her teaching journey as a Jumpstart corps member and then Teach for America corps member in Denver Public Schools (2013), teaching grades preK-2. Diana is a running mentor with Students Run Philly Style, where she supports and inspires high school students striving to complete a half or full marathon to push themselves further, foster resilience, and develop lifelong problem solving. She has also been part of Culture & Climate committees. Diana earned her BA in international development studies with an education studies minor from University of California, Los Angeles, and an MSEd in reading/writing/literacy from University of Pennsylvania.
