Ana Elias-Morales

Ana Elias-Morales is a 2026-2027 Emergent Bilingual Change Agent Alumni Mobilizer who works passionately to provide equity for newcomer students. Her career began as a middle school teacher in Sacramento, California and has now worked at the secondary level for the past 13 years as a classroom teacher and an ELD coordinator. She is currently a high school English teacher and an advisor for the Latino Student Union (LSU) at Hoover High School with the Fresno Unified School District. Her work focuses on teaching multilingual students, more specifically emerging bilinguals, to build literacy skills in both their home language and English for the purpose of developing a strong bilingual identity and to better advocate for one’s education. Throughout her career she has mentored new teachers and served as a Teacher Leader with the San Joaquin Valley Writing Project (SJVWP) since 2015. Ana earned her BA in Communications and a minor in Creative Writing from California State University, Monterey Bay, a credential in English, and a Master’s degree in Education from University of California, Davis.
