Elizabeth Dean is an 11th and 12th grade Resource Specialist at Alliance College-Ready Academy High School #16 in downtown Los Angeles. In this position, she collaborates with English and math teachers to meet the needs of diverse learners, provides support to students with disabilities in their general education classes, and teaches a Resource Lab focused on reading intervention. The lead Resource Specialist and the founding special education teacher at her school site, Elizabeth established an inclusive resource program that sets high academic expectations for students with disabilities by giving them access to rigorous curriculum. She currently serves on the school’s Leadership Committee and School Board. Elizabeth graduated from University of California Berkeley with a BA in development studies and earned her MA in special education from Loyola Marymount University.
