Ana Elkhessassi is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Massachusetts Policy Fellow. Ana is a 1st grade ESL teacher at the Garfield Elementary School in Revere, Massachusetts. She supports immigrant students’ English language skills and provides the socio-emotional support they need to feel safe and thrive academically and in their lives. Ana started her teaching career as a special education teacher in her home country of Chile before moving to the United States and working as a Spanish teacher. Ana is a certified life coach, a Positive Discipline parent coach, and a holistic health coach. She was a member of the National Network for Early Language Learning advocacy team. She earned her BA in special education with two majors in speech and language development and intellectual disabilities from University San Sebastian and an MEd in teaching Spanish as a second language from Universidad a Distancia de Madrid.
