Samantha Ellison is a 2022-23 Illinois Distributed Leadership Fellow. She is a Special Education teacher leader and an educational leadership administrative intern at Piccolo Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois. Samantha is a member of the Behavioral Health Team and a part of the Multi-Tiered System of Support leadership collaborative. She is a RISE fellowship Alumni and was a policy fellow for Boston Public School’s Office of Equity and an advocacy fellow and member of the Illinois Equality Council for Equality Illinois. She earned a BA in Women and Gender Studies with a focus in Counseling and Anthropology from Ball State University, MS in Special Education from Dominican University, and a MEd in Educational Leadership, with a certificate in Education Law from Indiana University.
