Calvin Epps is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellow and Diverse Learners teacher at Englewood STEM High School in Chicago. He served as Vice President of the Black Male Educator’s Alliance of Illinois (2024-2025). Previously, Calvin taught middle school writing, science, English language arts, and was a reading fluency coach. He began his teaching career in Houston as a 2009 Teach for America corps member. Calvin serves on the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Alumni Association. He earned his BS in journalism from Syracuse University, MEd in education policy and management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and is pursuing Principal Certification through the Indiana University Graduate School of Education.
