Erica Scott is a 2020-21 Teach Plus Mississippi Policy Fellow. She teaches introductory and honors Spanish at Ocean Springs High School in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. She. She serves on the Ocean Springs School District Superintendent’s Advisory Committee, and she sponsors the high school Spanish Club. She is also a Spanish instructor for adults at the Ingalls Maritime Training Academy in Pascagoula, Mississippi through Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. She has been awarded the Teacher of the Year for the Mississippi Foreign Language Association (MFLA) and Outstanding Teacher of the Year for the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP). She currently serves as a MFLA board member and the chapter president of the Mississippi AATSP. Erica earned her BA in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi.
