Erik Nelson is a Teach Plus Los Angeles Teaching Policy Fellow. Eric is a founding teacher at Camino Nuevo Charter Academy’s second high school, the Miramar campus. As part of the school’s founding team of teachers, Erik was involved in the formation of the school culture and traditions, particularly the annual fall Harvest Festival. He has advocated for more technology in the classroom for students and strives to help teachers maximize their potential in collaboration through technology. A 2013 Teach For America corps member in Los Angeles, Erik graduated from the University of Southern California with a BS in Business Administration (Entrepreneurship) and a BA in Spanish, and is working towards completing a Masters in Urban Education at Loyola Marymount University.
