Charles Ferrer is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Colorado Policy Fellow. Charles is a 11th grade internships teacher and 12th grade college success advisor at DSST: College View High School in Denver, Colorado. He focuses on connecting students with internship opportunities to help students gain access to real-world experiences and gain 21st century workforce skills in and outside the classroom. Additionally, he is passionate about supporting 12th graders throughout the college and financial aid application process to ensure first-generation students receive wrap-around guidance. Charles was named the 2021 Flower Person Award for DSST: College View High School. Charles served as a legislative intern for a number of Members of Congress, including U.S. Senator Jon Tester of Montana and a communications intern for former U.S. Representative Patrick Murphy of Florida. He earned his BS in Geography from Penn State University.
