Alexis Gage is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Texas Senior Policy Fellow who teaches 9th grade biology at Chavez High School in Houston. She also serves as the biology lead teacher and a volleyball and softball coach. Alexis is passionate about educational equity and school discipline reform. Alexis has served as co-chair of the Disrupting and Dismantling the School To Prison Pipeline Issue Action Team with ONEHouston, is a Teach for America Houston 2020 alumna, and has been selected as a 2024 Leadership for Educational Equity Policy and Advocacy Fellow. She was a participant in a biology focus group for upcoming changes to Biology TEKS. Alexis is a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. She received her BS in forensic anthropology from Baylor University and is pursuing her MPPA from the University of St. Thomas.
