LaCari Gant is a 2022-2023 Indianapolis Equity Change Agent, kindergarten lead teacher, and at Circle City Preparatory Charter School in Indianapolis, Indiana. She leads her team in using effective strategies to improve student outcomes and strictly focus on literacy. LaCari served as the 2022 Summer Learning Lab leader of Circle Prep’s summer program. She was presented the Black Excellence in Education Award (2021-2022) and Quarter 1 Teach for the Future Award at Circle City Preparatory Charter School (2022). LaCari began her teaching career in Wisconsin as a paraprofessional, was a 2017 Teach for America corps member, and has since taught various grades between Preschool (HeadStart) and third grade. She earned her AAS in Child Development from Milwaukee Area Technical College, a BA Business and MS in Management from Cardinal Stritch University, and a Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Diversity in Early Education from Walden University.
