Alexandria Gariepy is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Equity Leadership Institute member and social worker and school-based therapist for the Sto Rox School District located in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. Alexandria began her social work career in Pittsburgh as a Youth Development Specialist at Gwen’s Girls where she developed a trauma-informed art curriculum. In addition, she was selected for the Edith Baker Integrated Healthcare Fellowship, where she had the privilege to work with gender diverse youth and homeless youth while on Adolescent & Young Adult Medicines Behavioral Health team. Alexandria continued her career as a child abuse legal advocate with the Center for Victims. Alexandria was named Student of the Year (2019), and was the recipient of the Women’s Circle award (2019), and the Jennie A Carter Award (2019). Alexandria is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), and is currently working on obtaining her licensed clinical social work hours. She earned a BA in Social Work from California University of Pennsylvania, and a MSW from the University of Pittsburgh.
