Micayla Gifford is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Massachusetts Policy Fellow and 3rd grade English as a Second Language teacher at Young Achievers Pilot School in Boston. She specializes in supporting multilingual and dually identified students, fostering their language development and literacy to empower them as learners. Previously, Micayla taught 3rd grade Sheltered English Immersion in Boston Public Schools, as well as English as a Second Language at the secondary level in charter schools across Boston. She began her teaching career in Boston as a 2018 Teach for America corps member. Micayla earned a dual degree BA in psychology and Spanish from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MA in education from Boston University.
