Andrew Gitner is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Colorado Policy Fellow. Andrew is a 10th and 11th grade teacher, technology mentor, and teacher-advocate at Golden High School in Jefferson County, Colorado. Andrew has served his school as an instructional leader, his colleagues as a member of Jefferson County Education Association’s Bargaining Organizing Action Team, and Colorado teachers as a Colorado Education Association Ambassador Fellow. Andrew was named Collegiate Academy of Colorado’s Teacher of the Year, won numerous Jeffco Talented Teacher awards, and helped Alameda International win a Colorado Department of Education Workforce Grant to expand their Bilingual Pathways to Teaching Program. Andrew has taught various English courses for students of all ability levels, and is currently consulting for CoGrader, an AI start up company, testing software to improve student writing. He earned his BS in adolescent education and English from the State University of New York College at Oneonta, and an MEd in instructional design from Western Governors’ University.
