Monica Gonzalez-Lopez is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus California Emergent Bilingual Change Agent and English Language Development (ELD) teacher leader at Spruce Elementary in South San Francisco. She supports bilingual literacy and Latinx student stories through ELD lessons. Monica serves on the instructional leadership team and leads a parent community group. She previously served as an assistant summer administrator for Big Lift. Monica was a featured speaker at the San Mateo County Multilingual Institute and was highlighted in the district superintendent’s newsletter. She earned a MA in elementary education, MA in educational administration leadership from San Francisco State University, and is currently working on her EdD in international multicultural education at the University of San Francisco.
