Widalys Gonzalez is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Philadelphia Affinity Group Network Facilitator. She is a math and science teacher and National Honor Society advisor at Esperanza Academy Charter High School in Philadelphia. Widalys previously worked as a Science and Math Upward Bound Coordinator at Temple University and has taught science and mathematics across K–12 settings for nearly 20 years. She led her school’s National Honor Society to a first place finish in the Philadelphia Service Award Program’s Safer, Cleaner, Greener competition, securing a $20,000 grant for student-led community initiatives (2026). Widalys earned a BS in chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico–Mayagüez, two MS degrees from Drexel University, and an MEd in educational leadership with principal certification from Bank Street Graduate School of Education.
