John Gowan is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Massachusetts Policy Fellow and high school history teacher at John J. Duggan Academy in Springfield, Massachusetts. He has served as the assistant baseball coach, assistant wrestling coach, and coach for the middle school C3 basketball league at his school. Previously, he was a senior undergraduate admissions counselor and adjunct faculty at American International College, youth program coordinator at NEFW YouthWorks, and equal opportunities officer at NEFW Programs. He earned a BA in history from Westfield State University with a minor in ethnic and gender studies, and MBA from American International College.
