Marielena Gozur is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellow and a bilingual special education teacher at Cedar Ridge Elementary in Bloomington. She leads her school’s PBIS team as the Tier 2 coach and data analyst. Marielena assisted with the development of a social, emotional, and behavioral intervention program for K-2 students and a bilingual special education classroom environment program. She was named the 2022 East Central Regional Illinois Teacher of the Year. Marielena earned her BS in special education from Youngstown State University, an MEd in special education from Illinois State University, and is currently working on bilingual and English as a Second Language endorsements to her certification.
