Tia Graves is a 2025-2026 Philadelphia Affinity Group Network Facilitator and 3rd grade teacher at Lewis Elkin Elementary School in Philadelphia. She is a math and social studies curriculum writer with the School District of Philadelphia and serves as a professional development creator and facilitator for her district’s Africana Studies Lecture and Workshop Series. Tia has served as a PhilWP Scholar, Peco Scholar, Teacher institute Philadelphia fellow, and is a Teach Plus Pennsylvania Policy Fellowship alumna. Previously, she was named Black Lives Matter Philadelphia Educator of the Year. Tia received a BA in African-American studies and human services and MEd in elementary education with a focus on teaching math in urban communities, both from Lehman College.
