Lorynn Guerrero is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus New Mexico Policy Fellow currently teaching English to 9th and 10th grade students at Gadsden High School in Anthony, New Mexico. In 2022, she was selected to represent New Mexico educators as the New Mexico Teacher of the Year. In 2021, as a New America School staff member, Lorynn received the Champions of Children award. She previously taught at Hatch Middle School. Her pedagogical priority is to work with students and educators to encourage personalized education for all students. Lorynn graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a MEd with an emphasis in education administration. She attended New Mexico State University where she earned a BS in secondary education with an emphasis in English language arts. She has Advanced Placement certification in literature and composition from New Mexico Highland University and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages certification from ENMU.
