Cristina Gutierrez is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Policy Fellow and is a Spanish/English Dual Language kindergarten teacher at Lewis Elkin Elementary School in Philadelphia. She serves as a grade team leader and is also a member of the Steering Committee for the Caucus of Working Educators of the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers. Cristina received The Rose Lindenbaum Excellence in Education, Distinguished Teacher Award. She earned a BA in Hospitality from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, her MEd in Bilingual Education from La Universidad del Turabo, and completed Teacher Preparation and ESOL Specialist Certifications from the University of Pennsylvania.
